Velasco Lawyers was founded by Maria Teresa Velasco in Granada in 1993, initially dealing in Family Law. The combination of integrity and professionalism together with a friendly manner soon resulted in a rapid growth of cases.

With the opening an office on the coast, the firm expanded into conveyancing, specializing in English speaking clients. Utilizing the same professional manner, the firm soon gained a reputation for integrity and independence with the clients’ interests always paramount.

The firm operates under the auspices of the Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Granada and is a member of The International Bar Association (www.ibanet.org). We also subscribe to the Colegios' annual publications to keep up to date with all the current Legal topics.

We are keen to expand our network of offices and to work with clients in their own language, whilst at the same time not losing sight of our original objectives.

Where possible we encompass the latest technology and by communicating by e-mail, video conferencing and the internet we can provide a service to those clients who are not always able to travel to our office.

Concurrently through her passion for scuba diving and sailing, she was introduced to clients on the coast who had diving and associate businesses. This area of providing business and fiscal advice, accountancy and marine law provided an introduction to many foreign clients purchasing property on the coast who needed a Spanish lawyer fluent in English.

In 2002 a decision was made to open another office on the coast at Almuñécar on the Costa Tropical serving clients from Almería to Málaga. As the business has expanded another office is to be opened on the Costa del Sol which can provide advice for clients from Cádiz to Málaga.
